NTU Singapore's Alibaba-NTU Global e-Sustainability CorpLab (ANGEL) seeks a Research Scientist – Green AI to advance efficient, sustainable AI. You will develop novel algorithms and system-level innovations to improve energy and computational efficiency while maintaining strong model performance.
Ideal candidates have a PhD in CS/AI/NLP, strong publication records, and proven work on LLMs, efficient deep learning, model optimization, and AI systems.
The Alibaba-NTU Global e-Sustainability CorpLab (ANGEL) represents a key collaboration between Alibaba Group and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Supported by the Singapore RIE2025 Fund, ANGEL creates and deploys impactful green digital technologies for global sustainability. ANGEL’s mission aligns seamlessly with Singapore’s national objectives, such as the Singapore Green Plan 2030 and the Singapore Smart Nation Initiative. ANGEL’s work in developing sustainable and equitable digital solutions and promoting a sustainable and green lifestyle will contribute to a smaller carbon footprint. Its holistic approach will help to secure a brighter, more sustainable future for humanity. We are seeking an outstanding Research Scientist – Green AI to conduct cutting‑edge research on efficient, sustainable, and scalable artificial intelligence technologies.
The successful candidate will develop novel algorithms and system‑level innovations that significantly improve the energy efficiency, computational efficiency, and deployment of large AI models while maintaining high model performance.
The ideal candidate has a strong research background in large language models (LLMs), efficient deep learning, natural language processing, model optimization, and AI systems, with a proven publication record at top‑tier AI conferences and journals.
