Job summary
Nanyang Technological University in Singapore is seeking a Research Fellow to join our multidisciplinary team aiming to develop the next generation of metal multimaterial additive manufacturing. You will conduct systematic experimental campaigns in multimaterial LPBF and develop physics-based and data-driven models to optimize processes and material performance.

Qualifications
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Nanotechnology, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong background in mathematical modeling of multiscale and multiphysics phenomena.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex process behaviour through fractal descriptors across additive manufacturing technologies.
- Proficiency in advanced mechanical design and CAD (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, nTop).
- Experience with AI and data-driven methods for AM including MATLAB/Python.
Responsibilities
- Conduct systematic experimental campaigns in multimaterial LPBF.
- Develop physics-based and data-driven models for process optimization.
- Design and optimize multimaterial and functionally graded LPBF components.
- Study powder bed behaviour, melt pool dynamics, and inter-material transitions.
- Analyze results to establish robust relationships for optimization.
- Support automation, control, and in-process monitoring development.
- Document findings and contribute to publications.
