Nanyang Technological University Singapore’s School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering invites applications for a Research Fellow to lead cutting-edge in-situ experimental mechanics, focusing on MEMS-based characterization platforms inside SEM/TEM environments to study real-time mechanical failure, interfacial phenomena, and coupled problems in emerging materials.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for manuscripts, proposals, and presentations.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration in an interdisciplinary lab environment.
• Proven track record in 2D material device fabrication, cleanroom microfabrication, or MEMS processing.
• Extensive hands-on experience with SEM and TEM, including in-situ testing platforms.
• Proficiency in data analysis and programming (Python, MATLAB); AI-driven workflows are a plus.

Aufgaben

• Design, fabricate, and assemble MEMS-based micro-stages and testing devices for in-situ mechanical and multphysics characterization.
• Plan and conduct advanced in-situ SEM and TEM experiments to monitor mechanical failure and dynamic behavior in real time.
• Publish in high-impact journals and present research at international conferences and seminars.
• Assist in drafting research grants, technical reports, and progress updates for funding agencies.
• Co-supervise PhD candidates and undergraduate researchers on experimental techniques and data interpretation.
• Oversee equipment maintenance and safety protocols for key lab instruments.
