Job summary

ERI@N in Singapore seeks a Research Engineer II to advance microgrid technology and clean energy solution development, responsible for designing, testing, and energy-management systems across the value chain.

You will drive hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop validation, model grid-following/forming strategies, and analyse transients, harmonics, and inertia effects, collaborating with international research partners on real-world deployments.

Qualifications

• - Ph.D. degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, specialized in Power Converters / Power & Energy Systems / Renewable Energy Integration & Control / Grid Management.
• - At least 2 years of professional experience with power and energy systems modelling, HIL/SIL tools validation and analysis.
• - EMT & RMS Modelling tools: PSCAD, DigiSilent PowerFactory, Siemens PSS-E; HIL/SIL platforms: OPAL-RT/RTDS.
• - Mathematical modelling of distribution networks with DERs and stochastic programming / approximate dynamic programming.
• - Expertise in data analysis for clustering and classification.
• - Knowledge in visualization tools for data presentation and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Power Converters driven green energy systems design, modelling and validation.
• EMT & RMS modelling tools setup and analysis.
• Configure and run HIL/SIL platforms using OPAL-RT/RTDS.
• Grid-converter modelling for grid-following/forming with stability analysis.
• Perform transient, harmonic and inertia studies, QoS and control dynamics.
• Collaborate with industry researchers and contribute to milestones and reports.
