Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Strong background in power electronics, converter design, and grid-connected systems.
  • Knowledge of grid-forming converters and renewable energy systems is preferred.
  • Experience with simulation/modelling tools (MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSCAD).
  • Hands-on hardware design, prototyping, testing and validation is desirable.
  • Publications or research proposal experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct R&D in grid-forming power electronic converters and energy systems.
  • Model, simulate, implement, and validate converter systems and control algorithms.
  • Develop advanced control strategies for converter-dominated power systems.
  • Perform experimental testing, data analysis and performance evaluation.
  • Develop simulation models using MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSCAD or equivalents.
  • Design, integrate and test laboratory-scale converter prototypes and platforms.
  • Collaborate with PI, students, staff and industry partners on project execution.
  • Mentor graduate and junior researchers as required.
  • Support project coordination, milestones and technical communication.
