Qualifications

• PhD in cell biology, structural biology, biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering, molecular biology or closely related discipline.
• Strong research track record with first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Hands-on experience in advanced fluorescence microscopy (confocal, live-cell).
• Experience with expansion microscopy or a clear interest in establishing it.
• Experience imaging subcellular organelles or macromolecular assemblies.
• Experience in mammalian cell culture and protein biochemistry.
• Experience with image-based analysis and scripting for quantitative measurements.
• Experience with protein production and structural/biophysical characterization is a plus.
• Prior experience supervising students is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead an independent line of research on host and viral organelles during infection using expansion microscopy and advanced imaging.
• Develop and apply expansion microscopy workflows to host membranes and pathogen-induced structures.
• Investigate how protein lipidation shapes membrane architecture and organelle contacts.
• Design and perform quantitative image analysis to extract structural measurements.
• Carry out cell culture, molecular biology, genome editing and infection experiments.
• Apply complementary biochemical or biophysical approaches to support imaging work.
• Mentor students and contribute to grant applications and publications.
• Build collaborations within NTU, LKCMedicine, imaging cores and international partners.
