Job summary

ADECCO Personnel Pte Ltd is seeking a Research Engineer to join an R&D organisation in Singapore. The 12-month contract (renewable/convertible) runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 6pm, near One North MRT.

You will contribute to optical instrument design, prototyping, and data-driven experiments. The ideal candidate holds a Physics/Engineering degree and has hands-on experience with optical components, simulations, and Python for data analysis and experiment control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master in Physics, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Microelectronics or Industrial.
• Experience in optical instrument design, prototyping and development.
• Proficient in programming skills (Python) for data analysis and experiment control.
• Interest in solid-state spin sensing techniques.
• Excellent with optical simulation and design principles.
• Hands-on knowledge of optical components.
• Understanding of optical spectroscopy and microscopy applications.

Responsibilities

• Understand to connect tiny magnetic spin in solid materials with ultra-sensitive mechanical devices.
• Create new tools for measuring and controlling physical processes with extraordinary accuracy.
• Design and build optical microscopy system.
• Conduct analysis of the system performance and tolerances.
• Conduct system design, automate system operation.
• Evaluate new use cases and develop system design requirements.
