Job summary

Nanyang Technological University Singapore is seeking a talented engineer to design, develop and integrate AI-enabled applications for the Digital ATCO Assistant project in Singapore. You will build end-to-end systems that fuse LLMs, RAG, AI agents, tool calls, and workflow orchestration with enterprise data sources.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least one year of software engineering or systems integration experience, with strong Python and API/database skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS/AI/SE/Info Systems or related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant software engineering, systems integration, or enterprise tech delivery experience.
• Strong experience with Python, backend development, APIs, databases and system integration.
• Experience developing or integrating LLM applications, RAG, AI agents or orchestration workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate AI-enabled applications for the Digital ATCO Assistant project.
• Build end-to-end systems combining LLMs, RAG, AI agents, tool calling and workflow orchestration.
• Integrate AI components with enterprise systems via APIs, databases, auth, and messaging services.
• Develop backend services, UIs, and system connectors for prototypes and pilots.
• Implement evaluation, logging, monitoring, traceability and feedback for AI workflows.
• Collaborate with domain experts to translate use cases into requirements and test scenarios.
• Support testing, demos, documentation, and deployment activities.
• Contribute to reports, proposals, publications and collaboration with academic, industry, and regulatory partners.

• Build end-to-end systems that combine LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, AI agents, tool calling, workflow orchestration, and operational data sources.
• Integrate AI components with existing enterprise systems through APIs, databases, authentication mechanisms, and message-based services.
• Develop backend services, user interfaces, and system connectors for prototypes and pilot deployments.
• Implement evaluation, logging, monitoring, traceability, and feedback mechanisms for AI-assisted workflows.
• Work with domain experts and controllers to convert operational use cases into system requirements and test scenarios.
• Support system testing, demonstration, technical documentation, and deployment activities.
• Contribute to technical reports, project proposals, publications, and collaboration with academic, industry, and regulatory partners.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least one year of relevant experience in software engineering, systems integration, AI application development, or enterprise technology delivery.
• Strong experience with Python, backend development, APIs, databases, and system integration.
• Experience developing or integrating LLM applications, RAG systems, AI agents, or agent orchestration workflows.
• Ability to develop reliable end-to-end prototypes rather than standalone AI models.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience or interest in aviation, air traffic management, human-AI teaming, or safety-critical AI applications is an advantage.
