ATMRI at NTU is seeking a Research Engineer I to join the Digital ATCO Assistant project. The role focuses on developing intelligent assistants for air traffic management by integrating LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, AI agents, operational data, and user-facing applications.
Responsibilities: Design, develop, and integrate AI-enabled applications for the Digital ATCO Assistant project. Build end-to-end systems that combine LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, AI agents, tool calling, workflow orchestration, and operational data sources. Integrate AI components with existing enterprise systems through APIs, databases, authentication mechanisms, and message-based services. Develop backend services, user interfaces, and system connectors for prototypes and pilot deployments. Implement evaluation, logging, monitoring, traceability, and feedback mechanisms for AI-assisted workflows. Work with domain experts and controllers to convert operational use cases into system requirements and test scenarios. Support system testing, demonstration, technical documentation, and deployment activities.
