Job summary

Nanyang Technological University Singapore's Emerging nanoscience Research Institute (EnRI) seeks a Research Associate / Research Fellow to advance micro device research and development. The role collaborates with the project team on experimental design, device fabrication, testing and data analysis to achieve project goals.

Responsibilities include designing micro devices, maintaining lab equipment, preparing reports, and presenting findings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (for RA) or PhD (for Fellow) in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics or related field.
• Experience handling high voltages in high-energy or pulsed-power applications.
• Hands‑on experience in pulsed power or high-voltage electronic design.
• Familiar with microfabrication techniques (thin‑film deposition, photolithography).
• Good written and oral communication skills and a collaborative, proactive mindset.

The Emerging nanoscience Research Institute (EnRI) focuses its research on advanced materials, computational modelling & simulation and development of small-scale testing and materials characterization.

We are looking for a Research Associate / Research Fellow to support micro device research and development work. The role will work closely with the project team on the full spectrum of project activities, including experimental design, device fabrication, testing, and data analysis.

• Design, develop and fabricate micro devices with desired performance that meet project requirement
• Provide research support to the project team and laboratory, including equipment maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and managing consumables
• Document methodologies, results, and findings in technical reports and presentations

Job Requirements

• Master’s (for Research Associate equivalent) / PhD (for Research Fellow and above equivalent) qualification degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field
• Experience handling high-voltages in high-energy or pulsed-power applications
• Hands‑on experience in pulsed power or high-voltage electronic design
• Experience with circuit simulation tools and ideally electromagnetic simulation software will be advantageous
• Familiar with micro‑fabrication techniques (thin‑film deposition, photolithography)
• Good written and oral communication skills
• A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive and willingness to learn mindset
• Actual appointment grade will depend on candidate’s qualification and experience
