Job summary

SEMBCORP INDUSTRIES LTD is seeking a Renewable Energy Project Manager in Singapore to lead end-to-end development of regional assets, including solar PV, BESS and green hydrogen infrastructure. You will drive planning, procurement, construction, grid connection and commissioning with cross-functional teams and external partners.

The role demands 1–3 years of PM experience in energy projects, strong technical knowledge, and leadership capabilities to collaborate with regulators, EPCs, and OEMs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Technology, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 1 to 3 years of proven project management experience delivering utility-scale or C&I solar PV, BESS, or power infrastructure projects in Singapore or APAC.
• PMP or Senior Certified Sustainability Professional certification is highly advantageous.
• Strong technical knowledge of high-voltage grid connections, inverter systems, SCADA integrations, and energy storage technologies.
• Exceptional leadership, contract negotiation, vendor management, and cross-functional team coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS) across planning, engineering design, procurement, installation, testing, and grid interconnection phases.
• Establish comprehensive project execution plans, schedule baseline tracking, CapEx budgets, and risk mitigation registers.
• Manage relationships and oversee contract compliance with EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants, and off-takers.
• Coordinate with government authorities, regulators, grid operators, and planning bodies for permits, land rights, and grid access approvals.
• Conduct technical due diligence, review site designs, verify energy yield assessments, and optimize performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with WSH regulations, environmental standards, and QA frameworks across sites.
• Prepare executive dashboards, financial variance reports, and risk updates for senior management.

About the role

We are seeking a strategic, technical, and results-driven Renewable Energy Project Manager to join our Renewables & Sustainable Solutions division in Singapore. Operating in a leadership capacity, the successful candidate will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of regional clean energy assets—including utility-scale solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and green hydrogen infrastructure—from early-stage development and procurement to construction, grid connection, and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and manage renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS) across planning, engineering design, procurement, installation, testing, and grid interconnection phases.

• Establish comprehensive project execution plans, schedule baseline tracking, capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets, and risk mitigation registers.

• Manage relationships and oversee contract compliance with EPC contractors, equipment original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), technical consultants, and off-takers.

• Coordinate with government authorities, energy market regulators (such as EMA), grid operators, and local planning bodies to secure necessary permits, land rights, and grid access approvals.

• Conduct technical due diligence, review site engineering designs, verify energy yield assessments, and optimize system performance metrics.

• Ensure strict compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, environmental sustainability standards, and quality assurance frameworks across all construction sites.

• Prepare executive progress dashboards, financial variance reports, and risk status updates for senior management and project investment committees.

About you

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Technology, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 1 to 3 years of proven project management experience delivering utility-scale or commercial/industrial (C&I) solar PV, BESS, or power infrastructure projects in Singapore or the APAC region.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Senior Certified Sustainability Professional certification is highly advantageous.

• Strong technical working knowledge of high-voltage grid connections, inverter systems, SCADA integrations, and energy storage technologies.

• Exceptional leadership, contract negotiation, vendor management, and cross-functional team coordination skills.

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with the stakeholder management capacity to collaborate effectively with internal desks and external partners.
