Job summary
BARNES AEROSPACE seeks a Director, Engineering to lead Europe and Asia engineering teams, overseeing a multi-site organization that supports OE production and component repair, including NPI, product and process engineering, tooling, automation, and sustaining technical support.
The role partners with global leaders to deploy standardized processes, strengthen regional capabilities, and improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive engineering leadership in aerospace or similar industries.
- Experience leading multi-site engineering teams in a matrix organization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and executive communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Deploy regional engineering leadership and operating model across NPI, product, process, tooling, and automation.
- Provide technical leadership for new product introductions and manufacturing readiness.
- Coach and retain an inclusive, accountable engineering organization with clear career paths.
- Review and support regional resource planning, risk, and performance management.
- Own regional engineering roadmap and governance of investments.
- Lead manufacturing excellence and automation initiatives to improve yield and throughput.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, FAA/EASA requirements and other regs.
- Represent regional capability in customer and partner discussions and drive growth.
