Job summary

Barnes Aerospace is seeking a Director, Engineering to lead our Europe and Asia engineering teams. You will oversee NPI, product and process engineering, tooling, automation, and sustaining technical support, deploying standardized practices while expanding regional capabilities.

This remote role offers up to 50% travel and requires 10+ years in aerospace engineering leadership, with multi-site experience and strong communication to drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in aerospace/manufacturing.
• Experience leading multi-site engineering teams in a matrix organization.
• Willingness to travel regionally and internationally.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Deploy regional engineering leadership and operating model with defined accountability across NPI, product engineering, process engineering, tooling, special processes, automation, and technical support functions.
• Provide technical leadership for introduction of new product lines; review and deploy standards regionally.
• Partner with central engineering; build, coach, and retain an inclusive, accountable engineering organization with clear career paths.
• Review regional resource planning, technical risk, program reviews, customer escalations, performance management, and talent decisions.
• Partner with program management to provide technical estimates, milestone plans, risk assessments, and customer-facing status.
• Own regional engineering operating model, technology and capability roadmap, and governance of investment priorities.
• Support manufacturing excellence, technology and automation initiatives to improve yield, throughput, and cost via lean methods.
• Create and manage engineering quality, compliance and technical authority for AS9100, NADCAP, FAA/EASA requirements.
• Region technical lead for customer and commercial partnership; represent engineering capability in discussions with customers and partners.
