Job summary

Brighton College (Singapore) is part of the Cognita family and is looking for an experienced Relief Teacher Assistant to join our vibrant school community. You will support the developmental and educational needs of children under the direction of the class teacher and Deputy Head.

The role emphasises Mandarin language support in a Pre-Prep dual-language environment, assisting with activities, materials, and wellbeing, including school transport and co-curricular involvement.

Qualifications

• Passionate about working with young children.
• Proficient in computers and basic technology tools.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to converse in Mandarin to support language learning.
• Able to work under pressure and demonstrate initiative.
• Flexible and responsive, including being available to receive calls in the morning.

Responsibilities

• Work with an individual child or small groups of children, as directed by the Class Teacher, Deputy Head, or Head Master.
• Actively promote the learning of the Mandarin language within the Pre-Prep dual-language environment.
• Follow agreed programmes of work with individuals and groups of children to support progress towards set targets.
• Contribute to the overall well-being of children, supporting their physical, emotional, and social development.
• Support staff with minor administrative tasks when not directly working with pupils, including photocopying, filing, and maintaining records.
• Make notes in Individual Education Plan (IEP) books for children, as required.
• Contribute to the school's Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) programme.
• Assist with the safe administration of school transport arrangements for children.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as delegated by School Management.
