Job summary

Jobtailor in Singapore is seeking a Release Manager to coordinate release schedules, ensure readiness, and prepare release notes across software components. You will liaise with development and project teams to ensure smooth delivery and ongoing support for CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or similar.
• 3+ years of release management experience.
• Knowledge of C, C++, Java, Python, SQL, Shell scripting, ANT scripting and XML.
• Experience with C++ compilation and debugging using MS Visual Studio.
• Troubleshooting build failures and package dependencies in Windows and Unix environments.
• Experience with MySQL, SQLite and Oracle.
• Experience with Perforce, Git, Jenkins and Jira.
• VMware and managing virtual machines.
• Experience with IEC, ISO, or CMMI standards.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain software quality.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate release schedules and ensure timely delivery of software releases.
• Conduct release readiness and milestone reviews.
• Build, bundle, and prepare release notes for software components.
• Liaise with development and project teams to ensure smooth releases.
• Support continuous development and deployment pipelines.
• Oversee and continuously improve software release and build processes, emphasizing automation, rollback strategies, quality, and consistency.
• Identify, document, track, and resolve defects and issues during the release process.
• Develop and maintain build scripts and tools for automation.
• Manage configuration items and maintain version control.
• Participate in configuration audits and perform configuration status accounting to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Set up and manage development and build environments.
• Maintain documentation for release, configuration, quality management, certification, and compliance.
• Define and track quality metrics to ensure software releases meet required standards.
• Apply knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, implementation, debugging, testing, and documentation.
