Job summary

5 Stones HRM PTE. LTD. is seeking a detail-oriented Reinsurance Accountant to join our finance team in Singapore. You will review cessions, record premiums and claims, and support audits while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in insurance/reinsurance, strong Excel and SQL skills, and the ability to automate processes using VBA or Python. This role demands accuracy and timely delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Insurance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry.
• Good understanding of insurance and reinsurance accounting principles and practices.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience handling large datasets.
• Strong SQL or database querying skills are essential.
• Experience with automation tools or programming languages (e.g. VBA, Python, Power Query) is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Review reinsurance cessions, claims, and statements of account to ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Monitor reinsurance cessions and ensure large transactions are accurately recorded in the reinsurance accounting system.
• Record premiums, commissions, and claims accurately within the accounting system.
• Respond to client enquiries relating to accounting matters and provide timely resolution.
• Manage receivables to minimize overdue balances and maintain healthy client accounts.
• Prepare statutory and regulatory reports and support internal and external audit requirements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate existing processes using Microsoft Excel and other analytical or programming tools.
• Participate in regional and international initiatives and projects assigned.
