Job summary

QUESS SELECTION & SERVICES PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a detail-oriented professional to join the reinsurance technical accounting team, supporting treaty accounting and reconciliation for the portfolio.

You will work with treaty statements, prepare technical accounts, monitor loss provisions, and assist with month-end reporting while coordinating with internal partners. A diploma or degree and strong numerical ability are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in any field.
• Comfortable working with numbers and financial data.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail with good organisational skills.
• Prior exposure to general insurance, reinsurance, accounting or financial operations is advantageous but not essential.
• Candidates without industry experience but with strong numerical aptitude are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Review and process treaty statements and accounting information from partners.
• Prepare technical accounts and supporting schedules as required.
• Perform checks on account information and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain records of loss provisions and update based on statements.
• Track pending accounts, queries and unresolved items through to completion.
• Coordinate with stakeholders for clarification or additional information.
• Support month-end reporting and management information preparations.
• Assist with account reconciliations and analysis of variances.
• Maintain documentation and ensure transactions are recorded on time.
• Participate in process improvements and ad-hoc team initiatives.

The Opportunity

An opportunity is available for a detail-oriented professional to join a reinsurance technical accounting team, supporting the financial administration and reconciliation of treaty business.

The position will provide exposure to treaty accounts, loss provisions, reporting and reconciliation work. It is suitable for candidates who enjoy working with numbers and data and are interested in developing specialist knowledge within the insurance and reinsurance sector.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the technical accounting function, you will:

• Review and process treaty statements and accounting information received from relevant business partners.
• Prepare technical accounts and supporting schedules when required.
• Perform checks on account information and investigate discrepancies or incomplete entries.
• Maintain accurate records of loss provisions and make necessary updates based on incoming statements.
• Track pending accounts, outstanding queries and other unresolved items through to completion.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to obtain clarification or additional information where required.
• Support month-end reporting and preparation of regular management information.
• Assist with account reconciliations and analysis of variances or unusual movements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure transactions are recorded within the required timelines.
• Participate in process improvements, ad-hoc assignments and other team initiatives.
