Job summary

SWAN RE PTE. LTD. is seeking a seasoned reinsurance professional to lead new business development across Asia, including production and placement into international markets, while ensuring client needs are met with timely, compliant solutions.

The role involves managing client relationships, risk placement, and marketing to execution, with travel as needed to achieve business objectives across markets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in reinsurance industry is desirable.
• Combination of senior underwriting/analytical skills and broking skills required.
• Facultative reinsurance skill is essential
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Well-developed Leadership and Management skills
• Ability to build and maintain profitable long-term relationships with clients and colleagues
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
• Strong negotiation, influencing skills, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• To efficiently and effectively develop and manage new clients (cedent and producing brokers) across Asia region, including production and placement activities into the international markets.
• To efficiently and effectively identify and act upon new business opportunities which promote the profitable development of the business.
• To facilitate the prompt placement of reinsurance contracts in accordance with the cedent’s requirements and needs, in a timely manner in accordance with regulatory requirements acting in the best interest of the cedent at all times.
• To provide a high standard of service to clients covering all aspects of their reinsurance arrangements; to negotiate, advise, arrange and secure the appropriate cover at a competitive premium.
• To assume responsibility for and to oversee: New business production; The marketing & placement of risks; Client Servicing; Travel as necessary to fulfil business objectives.

Job Requirements

• Evaluate potential opportunities and build business plans backed by research & data.
• Responsible for projects and to oversee the daily workflow related to projects and their development and be involved in implementation of long-range plans and proposals.
• The leadership and management of reinsurance intermediation for the team including business production, risk placing, and client servicing and associated functions.
• To develop strategic production and development plans for the Company, including the identification of new business opportunities and the planning and development of new initiatives.
• To meet the financial and operational targets set by the Board.
• To promote effective and regular communication within the Team.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills
