Job summary

Acme Employment Agency is seeking a caring Therapy Aide to support therapists in rehabilitation services and patient care. You will prepare treatment areas, assist patients during sessions, maintain equipment and uphold a safe, hygienic environment.

In this role you’ll work with physiotherapists and occupational therapists, help with basic exercises, assist with mobility and transfers, and support administrative tasks to enable smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum secondary education or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in healthcare, rehabilitation, nursing home or therapy support is an advantage.
• Relevant healthcare or therapy aide training is preferred.
• Caring, patient and responsible personality.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and comfortable assisting patients with mobility.
• Able to follow instructions and work under the supervision of qualified therapists.
• Able to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends or public holidays where required.

Responsibilities

• Therapy & Rehabilitation Support: Assist physiotherapists and occupational therapists during sessions; Prepare treatment areas and equipment; Assist patients with basic exercises and rehabilitation activities; Help patients move between treatment areas safely; Provide support with mobility exercises and daily rehabilitation activities; Observe patients and report any discomfort.
• Patient Care & Assistance: Assist patients with walking, transferring and positioning; Provide basic assistance to patients with mobility limitations; Ensure patients are comfortable and safe during therapy activities; Communicate with patients in a friendly, respectful and professional manner; Provide encouragement and emotional support; Maintain patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality.
• Equipment & Facility Maintenance: Prepare, clean and sanitise therapy equipment; Ensure treatment rooms are clean and organised; Check equipment condition and report defects; Replenish towels and supplies; Ensure equipment is stored properly after sessions.
• Administrative Support: Assist with patient registration and appointment arrangements; Maintain basic therapy attendance and activity records; Prepare treatment materials and patient files; Assist therapists with administrative tasks; Coordinate with other healthcare staff to support daily operations.
• Safety & Hygiene: Follow workplace safety and infection control procedures; Assist patients safely; Report falls or safety concerns; Ensure therapy environment is hazard-free; Follow SOPs.
