Job summary

Abercare.sg is seeking a Therapy Support role to assist elderly patients with prescribed exercises and activities, under the supervision of physiotherapists and occupational therapists. The role focuses on mobility, balance, and daily living skills, ensuring a safe therapy environment and proper documentation of progress.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient transfers, setting up equipment, observing progress, and supporting group therapy sessions in a geriatric care setting.

Qualifications

• WSQ Certificate in Healthcare Support (Therapy Support) or NITEC in Community Care & Social Services.
• Experience in healthcare or therapy (minimum 2 years).

Responsibilities

• Assist elderly through prescribed therapeutic exercises and activities to enhance mobility, strength, and overall physical function.
• Assist PT and OT with the activities for geriatric client.
• Motivate elderly to practice essential life skills with tailored positive reinforcement.
• Monitor treatment compliance and record developmental milestones or concerns.
• Assist with transferring of patient.
• Setup equipment for therapy session and ensure area is clean and safe.
• Observe and report elderly progress or challenges to the occupational therapist.
• Support the occupational therapist during group therapy session.
