Summary of the Role
As Regional Product Specialist, you support the management and growth of the Product Portfolio (Interventional Oncology and Peripheral) within Terumo Interventional Systems Asia Pacific, working closely with the Regional Product Manager.
Key Functions / Responsibilities
- Overall responsibilities:
- Support and coordinate marketing efforts across multiple campaigns for a diverse portfolio of TIS products, ensuring effective promotion and brand consistency.
- Work closely with Regional Product Manager, Associate Marketing Director, Commercial Director and country commercial teams to develop, implement and execute short‑term and long‑range business and marketing plans to meet business results.
- Support development and execution of go‑to‑market product marketing strategy and initiatives, including new product launches, aligning to Global, TAP and TAP‑TIS strategy.
- Align messaging and positioning of products or solutions offers to customers.
- Collaborate with country teams and regional cross‑functional teams to execute integrated marketing initiatives across digital, social and traditional channels, ensuring overall marketing strategy aligns with company goals.
- Analyze market data and customer insights to identify and target key customer segments.
- Monitor and optimize campaign performance, adjusting strategies to meet overarching marketing goals.
- Engage with key markets, focusing on customer segmentations (clinical, operations and economic), linking to buying and sales process and market dynamics to enhance marketing reach and impact, supporting business growth.
- Develop and execute customer loyalty programs to strengthen brand loyalty and maximize brand value among existing customers and new or competing users.
- Downstream Marketing (70%)
- Support activities including marketing programs, collateral, education tools and material developed by Product Marketing Team, and commercial team needs.
- Design and collect evidence required (data, testimonies, statements, etc.).
- Facilitate and support relationships with potential and existing KOLs, including cross‑country collaborations on academic and scientific initiatives.
- Coordinate internal marketing communications, including newsletters to boost confidence and share best practices.
- Proactively understand the learning needs of commercial teams, including distributors.
- Plan and track the annual marketing budget.
- Upstream Marketing (30%)
- Develop in‑depth knowledge of key healthcare trends focusing on customer needs, therapy progress and new technologies.
- Track competition activity and provide inputs and feedback in regular reports to Global TIS Product and Marketing team.
- Provide insights and represent TAP region customers and countries on their needs with supporting facts and evidence.
- Facilitate market research and VOCs to assess customer needs, key trends, portfolio gaps, market potential and price/value offerings.
- Collaborate with Global marketing organization to explore and launch new products.
- Business Intelligence and Analytics
- Learn and understand competitive landscape, market trends and dynamics.
- Analyze market versus business performance and support the Product Marketing team to develop action strategies and counter‑strategies.
- Oversee reporting and analytics updates to ensure timeliness and provide insights to countries.
- Measure effectiveness of marketing campaigns through automated data analysis and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Growth Mindset Ambassador
- Act as change agent to shift from device/product selling to solutions‑based approach, focusing on disease and health economics.
- Offer creative thinking, ideas and solutions to keep up with industry innovations and best practices.
- Benchmark with best‑in‑class industry to identify improvement areas.
- Other responsibilities
- Facilitate and support annual TAP‑TIS Kick‑off meetings and other TAP‑TIS initiatives, including project management of select strategic projects.
- Influence annual budget planning, forecasting and S&OP management process from the TAP Business Unit side.
- Engage cross‑functional teams (Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, IT, Medical Affairs) for strategy alignment.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a science‑related field, nursing, medical, business administration or marketing.
- 3–5 years of experience in Product Marketing, Product Management or related commercial roles in the Medical Device Industry.
- Experience in Interventional Oncology or/and Peripheral Intervention is required; regional exposure is an advantage.
- Strong strategic thinking and marketing acumen.
- Strong market research and analysis skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple levels and in a multicultural work environment.
- Leadership and people management skills to foster relationships and influence outcomes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to communicate value and results to all customer segments and internal stakeholders.
