The Regional Operations Executive will be based in Singapore and oversee day-to-day operations, store support and cross-functional initiatives across Malaysia.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or higher qualification in Business Administration, Hospitality, Marketing or related field.
  • At least two years’ experience in F&B, retail, chain-store operations or regional operations.
  • Experience in store operations, project coordination, business performance analysis or business partner management.
  • Ability to independently conduct store inspections, analyse issues, monitor corrective actions and prepare operational reports.
  • Strong written and spoken English with ability to communicate with local teams, partners and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint; travel readiness to Malaysia.

Regional Operations Executive – Malaysia

Work Location: Singapore (Permanent Base)

Region of Responsibility: Malaysia

Travel Requirement: Approximately 2–3 weeks per month in Malaysia, depending on business needs

Reporting To: Regional Operations Manager

Job Overview

The Regional Operations Executive will be based in Singapore and responsible for day-to-day operations management, store support, project implementation and business partner coordination across Malaysia.

The role requires regular travel to Malaysia to conduct store visits, analyse business performance, implement operational standards, manage business partner relationships and coordinate cross-functional initiatives. The objective is to improve store performance, service quality and overall brand operations within the Malaysian market.

Candidates must be comfortable with frequent overseas travel. The successful candidate is expected to spend approximately two to three weeks per month in Malaysia, with the remaining time working from the Singapore office.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1. Regional Operations Management
    • 1. Monitor the day-to-day operations of stores in Malaysia and ensure compliance with the Company’s operational standards, service procedures, product specifications and brand requirements.
    • 2. Conduct regular store visits in Malaysia to review service quality, product quality, food safety, hygiene standards, equipment management, inventory control and staffing arrangements.
    • 3. Identify operational issues, develop corrective action plans, assign responsible parties and completion deadlines, and monitor the implementation of corrective measures.
    • 4. Assist in establishing and improving operational procedures, inspection standards, reporting systems and store management mechanisms for the Malaysian market.
    • 5. Provide timely updates to the Regional Operations Manager regarding business progress, major operational issues and potential risks.
    • 6. Assist in handling store emergencies, major customer complaints and other issues that may affect normal business operations.
  • 2. Business Performance and Data Analysis
    • 1. Collect and analyse store data, including sales revenue, customer traffic, average transaction value, product sales, gross profit, labour costs, ingredient costs, wastage and customer feedback.
    • 2. Prepare weekly, monthly and ad hoc operational performance reports.
    • 3. Identify operational issues and improvement opportunities through data analysis and provide practical recommendations to management.
    • 4. Monitor the achievement of business targets and key performance indicators across all stores.
    • 5. Compare the performance of stores and locations and assist in developing targeted improvement plans.
  • 3. Store and Business Partner Management
    • 1. Serve as the primary operational liaison between the Company and its local business partners, franchisees and store teams in Malaysia.
    • 2. Coordinate and resolve matters relating to store operations, product supply, marketing activities, employee training and customer complaints.
    • 3. Conduct regular operational meetings with business partners and store managers, establishing clear action plans, responsible parties and completion deadlines.
    • 4. Monitor the implementation of the Company’s brand standards, operational policies and management requirements by business partners and store teams.
    • 5. Maintain positive working relationships while ensuring that the Company’s commercial interests, brand image and operational requirements are properly protected and implemented.
    • 6. Collect feedback from business partners and store teams and coordinate the necessary support from the relevant headquarters departments.
  • 4. New Store Setup and Project Implementation
    • 1. Assist with site assessments, pre-opening preparations, renovations, equipment procurement, staff training, soft openings and official openings of new stores in Malaysia.
    • 2. Develop and maintain project timelines and coordinate with internal departments, suppliers, business partners, renovation contractors and other relevant stakeholders.
    • 3. Monitor the progress of local business licences, food safety approvals and other documents required for store openings in Malaysia.
    • 4. Support Halal certification applications and related operational requirements where applicable.
    • 5. Support the implementation of new products, systems and operational standards introduced by headquarters.
    • 6. Monitor project budgets, expenses and supporting documents to ensure that projects are completed within the approved budget and timeline.
    • 7. Monitor the performance of newly opened stores and support them through the initial stabilisation period.
  • 5. Market and Marketing Support
    • 1. Gather information on the Malaysian food and beverage market, competing brands, consumer trends, commercial districts and customer preferences.
    • 2. Work with the Marketing Department to develop product promotions, festive campaigns and store marketing activities suitable for the Malaysian market.
    • 3. Monitor the implementation of marketing activities at store level and analyse campaign performance.
    • 4. Provide localisation recommendations concerning product mix, pricing, service standards and promotional strategies based on local market feedback.
    • 5. Monitor the dining habits and preferences of different regions and consumer groups and assist the Company in optimising its regional product and operations strategies.
    • 6. Assist in maintaining relationships with shopping malls, food delivery platforms, commercial partners and other sales channels.
  • 6. Supply Chain and Cross-Functional Coordination
    • 1. Coordinate with Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and other departments to support the smooth operation of the Malaysian business.
    • 2. Monitor the availability and supply of ingredients, equipment, packaging materials and other operational items.
    • 3. Assist in resolving inventory discrepancies, logistics delays, product quality issues and supplier service concerns.
    • 4. Monitor cross-border logistics and related operational coordination between Singapore and Malaysia.
    • 5. Assist in evaluating and managing local suppliers to ensure product quality, supply stability and cost effectiveness.
    • 6. Maintain operational documents, contracts, licences, training records and project files relating to the Malaysian market.
Requirements
  • 1. Diploma or higher qualification, preferably in Business Administration, Food and Beverage Management, Hospitality Management, Marketing or a related discipline.
  • 2. At least two years of relevant experience in food and beverage, retail, chain-store operations or regional operations.
  • 3. Experience in store operations, project coordination, business performance analysis or business partner management.
  • 4. Ability to independently conduct store inspections, analyse operational issues, monitor corrective actions and prepare operational reports.
  • 5. Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with local teams, business partners and suppliers in Malaysia.
  • 6. Proficiency in Malay is an advantage. Chinese-language skills are also an advantage, as the role may require communication with the China headquarters and Chinese-speaking business teams.
  • 7. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • 8. Proactive, responsible and results-oriented, with strong execution, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • 9. Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment and accommodate frequent overseas travel.
  • 10. Must be willing and able to travel to Malaysia for approximately two to three weeks per month.
  • 11. Must be legally eligible to work in Singapore and able to meet the applicable requirements for business travel to Malaysia.
  • 12. Experience in the Malaysian food and beverage market, franchise operations, new store openings, Halal food operations or cross-border supply chain coordination will be an advantage.
