Job summary
Rajah & Tann Asia is seeking an experienced Data Governance Officer to lead regional data governance, protection and data management across its ASEAN and China offices. The role focuses on secure, compliant handling of data, retention, sharing and transfer, aligned with business objectives and governance best practices.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Technology, Cybersecurity and Risk teams to support digital transformation and ensure governance standards are
Qualifications
- Degree in Law, Information Governance, Information Management, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in data governance, privacy, information management, compliance or cybersecurity.
- Experience building and implementing data governance or regulatory compliance programmes.
- Experience across multiple jurisdictions, preferably ASEAN and China.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain regional data protection and information-governance frameworks.
- Oversee data classification, retention, and lifecycle management across jurisdictions.
- Provide governance oversight for AI, cloud solutions and data-sharing initiatives.
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Technology and Risk stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on data risks, regulatory developments and governance programs.
