Job summary

ByteDance invites security professionals to join a team dedicated to advancing security, data protection, and business resilience. The role focuses on offensive and defensive security research, red teaming, and continuous improvement of security controls across infrastructure and applications.

The team conducts extensive exercises, threat intelligence, and incident readiness initiatives, collaborating across product teams.

Qualifications

• Background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or other STEM disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of red team operations, infrastructure security, MITRE, and TTPs.
• Adversarial mindset to emulate real-world attackers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Propose, plan, and execute Red Team Operations to test confidentiality, integrity, authentication, availability, authorization, and nonrepudiation.
• Understand ByteDance Enterprise Products and how they could be attacked or misused.
• Conduct security exercises that emulate real-world threats and relevant TTPs.
• Translate requirements into test plans and scripts to determine vulnerability to attacks.
• Certify components that meet security standards and write detailed reports with observations and recommendations.
• Collaborate with defense/product teams to propose enhancements and strengthen security offerings.
