Job summary

TYSON JAY MANAGEMENT PTE. LTD. is seeking a skilled embedded firmware engineer in Singapore to design, develop and test real-time C/C++ software for controllers, sensors and power-management systems.

The role includes embedded Linux components, board bring-up, hardware integration with SPI/I2C/CAN/UART, RTOS like Zephyr or FreeRTOS, and secure firmware-update infrastructure. You will diagnose issues with scopes, JTAG/SWD and contribute to automated tests.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on firmware or embedded software engineering with real hardware.
• Strong C/C++ for real-time or resource-constrained systems; Python a plus for tooling.
• Embedded Linux experience: drivers, device trees, cross-compilation, BSP/Yocto/Buildroot.
• Hardware-integration basics with SPI/I2C/CAN/UART; reading schematics.
• Experience with robotics or motor-control firmware; RTOS like Zephyr/FreeRTOS and ROS 2 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test real-time firmware in C/C++ for controllers and sensors.
• Develop and test embedded Linux components including drivers and device trees.
• Support board bring-up from power-on through validation and integration.
• Develop interfaces between embedded controllers and higher-level compute systems.
• Build bootload, flashing and firmware-update processes across hardware.
• Integrate sensors (IMUs, encoders, cameras) with proper timing and data handling.
• Implement safety, monitoring, fault handling, watchdogs and graceful failure.
• Diagnose HW/SW issues using scopes, JTAG/SWD, analyzers and automate tests.
