Job summary

UNITED MICROELECTRONICS CORPORATION (SINGAPORE BRANCH) is hiring an RTD & Scheduling Engineer to develop and optimize real-time dispatching and production scheduling for semiconductor manufacturing. You will collaborate with MFG users, IT, and cross-functional teams to translate operational needs into reliable system solutions.

You will analyze manufacturing data, support reporting and BI, and contribute to continuous improvements to keep production decisions timely and factory operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• Experience or ability to develop, test, or maintain software applications, algorithms, or manufacturing systems.
• Working knowledge of SQL and ability to query or analyze structured data.
• Knowledge of RTD, scheduling, MES, or AMHS is advantageous.
• Experience or knowledge in optimization algorithms, machine learning, or data analytics is helpful.
• Semiconductor or high-volume manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Analytical thinking, initiative, a continuous-improvement mindset, and effective communication/collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Real-Time Dispatching (RTD) systems and dispatching rules to support factory operations.
• Lead or contribute to RTD-related projects, from requirements gathering and solution design through development or configuration, testing, deployment, and performance evaluation.
• Improve production scheduling and manufacturing workflows by analyzing production priorities, factory conditions, and operational constraints.
• Collaborate with MFG users, IT, and other cross-functional teams to define requirements, implement system solutions, and support integration, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
• Integrate and support manufacturing systems, including MES and AMHS interfaces.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to maintain reliable operations.
• Analyze manufacturing data and develop reports or business intelligence insights to support operational and management decisions.
