Job summary

ICON OUTSOURCING in Singapore seeks an experienced software professional to analyze, design, and implement IT systems. You will work on Java/Kotlin, React.js, and MQ with PostgreSQL, leveraging Spring Framework and CI/CD in a highly Agile environment.

You will update documentation, guide juniors, and apply AI tools for efficient development while ensuring system reliability and performance across interdependent services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Experience with Java/Kotlin, React.js, MQ and PostgreSQL, including Spring Framework.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Experience with Agile processes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS), Docker and serverless architectures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess enhancement requests and write amendment specifications.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

• Analyze, design, program, document IT systems, or applications
• Analyze requests for enhancements/changes and write amendment/program specifications.
• Able to leverage AI tools for development and solutioning works
• Update system documentation.
• Participate in the systems review with ScrumMaster/Product Owner/Manager in a highly Agile iterative development environment.
• Understand the interdependencies of the services (application, system and database) and able to pin-point problem areas accurately to improve overall efficiency.
• Use development tools to develop applications for better productivity.
• Develop test cases, conduct SIT, load test and tune the performance of systems to meet SLA.
• Deploy systems to production and provide post-implementation support.
• Provide technical guidance to junior colleagues in their work.
• Keep abreast of technological advancement, emerging standards and new software or hardware solutions that may affect decisions about system builds or enhancements.
• Any other duties as and when assigned.

Requirements

Experience required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related fields
• Experience in modern application technologies such as Java/Kotlin, React.js, MQ, PostgreSQL (or other equivalent RDBMS) including knowledge of the Spring Framework.
• A minimum of 5 (recent) years of relevant hands‑on working experience.
• Experience in Agile processes/practices (e.g., Scrum, Agile Sprint Planning)
• Continuous integration/continuous deployment
• Experience is following technologies will be helpful as well:
  • Cloud/PaaS platforms, such as AWS
  • Serverless Framework
  • Docker/container technology
