Job summary

Wavelength Opto-Electronic (S) Pte Ltd is seeking an proactive Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team. You will design mechanical aspects of photonic and optical products, support prototype integration, and collaborate with sales and distributors on solution delivery.

You will use CAD tools like Inventor or SolidWorks, maintain thorough engineering records, and source components to meet project milestones. Fresh graduates with strong fundamentals are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant field with minimum 2nd upper class honors (fresh graduates pending final results may use CGPA).
• Proficiency in CAD design software such as Inventor or SolidWorks to produce detailed mechanical designs.
• Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including design principles, machine elements, materials, and fabrication methods.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning cutting-edge technologies and engaging in hands‑on activities.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate responsively and cooperatively within teams and with external partners.
• Proactive and resourceful approach to sourcing and delivering innovative mechanical solutions.
• Positive attitude and strong team spirit to contribute constructively to the R&D environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities to develop and integrate photonic and optical products including optical modules and measurement instruments
• Source mechanical and electronic components proactively to support project requirements and innovation
• Support cross-functional project activities to ensure timely delivery and quality outcomes
• Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation to uphold project standards and traceability
• Set up and maintain equipment to ensure operational readiness and reliability for prototype testing
• Provide technical support to sales teams and distributors to facilitate customer engagement and solution delivery
• Apply strong problem-solving skills and hands‑on mechanical expertise to address technical challenges and advance product development
