Manfield Employment Services Pte Ltd is seeking an R&D Chemist for a leading global manufacturer of polymer solutions in Singapore. The role focuses on analytical and characterization activities, instrument operation, and method development to support research and product lifecycles.
You will work with R&D, Quality Control, Manufacturing, and Engineering to drive development, ensure quality, and maintain thorough documentation while upholding safety standards and regulatory compliance.

The role of the R&D Chemist includes:
Oversee and coordinate all analytical and characterization activities within the laboratory, ensuring efficient operation of testing and evaluation processes.
Perform operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance verification of sophisticated analytical instruments such as chromatographic, thermal, spectroscopic, and biocompatibility testing systems.
Design, optimize, qualify, and deploy analytical methodologies to support research, development, and product lifecycle requirements while meeting applicable regulatory and quality expectations.
Analyze experimental results, draw scientifically sound conclusions, and communicate findings through comprehensive technical reports and presentations.
Prepare, review, and maintain laboratory documentation, including test protocols, analytical reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and equipment work instructions.
Coordinate and monitor instrument calibration, qualification, and validation schedules to ensure continuous compliance and operational readiness.
Uphold laboratory safety standards, quality management requirements, and good documentation practices in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality Control, Manufacturing, and Engineering to support product development, process improvement, and quality initiatives.
Administer laboratory resources by managing inventories of chemicals, reference materials, consumables, and calibration supplies to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Provide technical guidance, coaching, and competency development for laboratory personnel, fostering adherence to best practices and continuous improvement.
Bachelor in Chemical engineering or equivalent.
3 to 5 years relevant experience in similar industry.
