Job summary

RECRUITPEDIA PTE. LTD. is seeking a Chemist to join our client’s West Singapore team for ongoing transformation projects.

The role involves leading testing methods to meet USP standards for medical devices and pharmaceuticals intended for US, EU, and China markets. You will supervise chemists across R&D, Technology Transfer, and Projects, with a focus on product development and cost-effective, reliable technologies for sterile medical devices and related ophthalmic products.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in Chemistry or relevant field.
• 1–2 years of experience in ISO13485 environment; internship in a chemistry lab counts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement testing methods to ensure regulatory compliance for medical devices and pharmaceuticals (USP) for US, EU, and China.
• Supervise a team of chemists across R&D, Technology Transfer, and Projects, focusing on product development and cost-effective technologies.
• Lead technology transfers from lab scale to R&D scale and to plant scale, ensuring smooth transitions.
• Develop and optimize testing methods for new materials and finished products to meet regulatory standards.
• Identify and select chemicals to enhance product shelf-life and guide QC on good laboratory practices.
• Spearhead development of new chemicals and oversee their technology transfer.

Our client is one of the leading players in the Medical Industry. Due to business needs, they are now recruiting a Chemist to be part of their team for ongoing transformation projects. They are located in the West.

Responsibilities of Chemist:

• Lead and implement technical testing methods to ensure compliance with regulatory standards for medical device and pharmaceutical products, including those outlined in USP, for markets in the US, EU, and China.
• Supervise a team of chemists across R&D, Technology Transfer, and Projects, emphasizing experience in Product Development and the ability to deliver cost-effective, reliable technologies for sterile medical device production, ophthalmic solutions, and related products.
• Lead technology transfers and projects, ensuring smooth transitions from lab-scale research to R&D scale and eventually to plant scale.
• Develop and optimize testing methods for new materials and finished products to meet regulatory standards.
• Identify and select chemicals that enhance product shelf-life.
• Provide guidance to the QC team on good laboratory practices, equipment handling, and result interpretation.
• Spearhead the development of new chemicals and oversee their technology transfer.

Requirements:

• Minimum Degree in Chemistry or other relevant field of studies
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant working experience in relevant industry (ISO13485), internship experience in chemistry lab will be considered as well.
