Job summary

Thought Projects Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Quantum Optics Hardware Engineer to join our cybersecurity startup in Singapore. You will evaluate and test quantum key distribution systems and work with a team to research new test methods and uncover vulnerabilities.

The role requires a Bachelor/Master in physics or electronics engineering, lab work with lasers and detectors, and hands-on experience in quantum optics hardware along with C/C++ and Python programming.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Masters in physics or electronics engineering.
  • Ability to handle lasers, photodetectors and fiber optics in a laboratory.
  • Hands-on experience with quantum optics hardware, including single-photon detectors and quantum-entangled sources.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.

Responsibilities

  • Perform security evaluation and acceptance testing of quantum key distribution systems.
  • Research and develop new test methods and discover vulnerabilities in quantum hardware.

About the job Quantum Optics Hardware Engineer

he Thought Projects Pte. Ltd. is a start-up offering next-generation cybersecurity solutions. We specialize in quantum-safe data protection technology, especially in security evaluation and vulnerability testing of quantum-based hardware. We are also building novel networking and computing architectures that are secure by design.

We are looking for a quantum optics hardware engineer to help us perform security evaluation and acceptance testing of quantum key distribution systems. You will be part of a team to research and develop new test methods and discover new vulnerabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor/Masters degree in physics or electronics engineering.
  • Able to handle lasers, photodetectors and fiber optics in a laboratory.
  • Preferably have hands-on experience with quantum optics hardware in the laboratory, including single-photon detectors and quantum-entangled sources.
  • Good programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
