Job summary

Lian Gay Construction in Singapore seeks a capable engineer/quantity surveyor to bid projects, calculate costs from sketches and drawings, and manage material procurement. You will work with the design department to quantify materials, coordinate with contractors, and ensure timely delivery of orders.

Ideal candidates bring a Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying degree, 2–3 years in metal works/structural steel, and strong client-facing communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
• 2-3 years' experience in metal works and structural steel works.

Responsibilities

• Bid projects.
• Calculate costs and quotes from rough sketches, drawings and data from main contractors or clients.
• Obtain approved construction drawings from the design department to calculate materials and hardware.
• Purchase all materials including hardware accessories/tools and consumables.
• Provide necessary support for project management.
• Maintain good communication and coordination with team members.
• Submit monthly claims to main contractor or customer for completed work and VO work.
• Verify and process workload claimed by subcontractors each month.
• Assist factory management in issuing delivery orders.
• Assist colleagues with temporary tasks as needed.
• Handle other ad-hoc duties assigned by supervisor/management.
