Job summary

Jia Xing Construction is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects in Singapore. You will estimate costs, prepare tender documents, administer contracts, and handle progress payments, variation orders, and final accounts.

The role requires coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective cost control and contract compliance throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Relevant experience in the construction industry is preferred.
• Good knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimation, tendering, and quantity measurement.
• Familiar with Progress Claims, Variation Orders, and Final Accounts.
• Good analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation & Tendering: Prepare cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and tender documents.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to ensure accurate pricing.
• Contract & Commercial Management: Manage contracts and monitor obligations.
• Review quotations, contracts, and commercial terms with contractors and suppliers.
• Progress Claims & Payment: Prepare and assess progress claims and payment applications.
• Verify completed works and ensure accurate valuation of work done.
• Variation & Cost Control: Evaluate and manage Variation Orders and additional works.
• Monitor project costs and ensure expenditure remains within the approved budget.
• Subcontractor & Supplier Coordination: Review quotations and negotiate prices.
• Maintain good working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients.
• Final Account & Documentation: Prepare and negotiate final accounts and maintain records.
