Job description

Quantity Surveyor (Building Construction)

Industry/ Organization Type: Construction of buildings

Working Location: Kaki Bukit

Working Hours: 5 days (Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:30 PM)

Salary Package: Basic Salary + OT Pay

Duration: Permanent Role

Key Responsibilities

• Secure new contracts and projects and manage project contracts from tender stage to completion.
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities (BQ), cost estimates, and project specifications.
• Review client requirements and work with the project team on feasibility studies, cost planning, and value management.
• Carry out cost analysis, budget monitoring, and cost control for project trade works throughout each project stage.
• Develop procurement strategies, source subcontractors and suppliers, and recommend cost‑effective options.
• Prepare and analyse tender costing, evaluate tender results, and prepare reports for management review.
• Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks, variations, claims, and contract‑related matters.
• Allocate work to subcontractors, assess completed works, and prepare payment certifications.
• Ensure project contracts and QS work comply with relevant ISO standards, company procedures, and applicable regulations such as the Security of Payment Act (SOP).
• Any ad hoc duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of quantity surveying experience in building construction.
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project.
• Good knowledge of tendering, contract administration, cost control, procurement, variations, and progress claims.
• Strong negotiation, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to work in a fast‑paced project environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
