Job summary

FORTIFIED (S) PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support cost planning, tendering and project control across Singapore’s construction sector.

The candidate should have at least 2 years of QS experience in construction, be proficient in reading drawings (architectural, structural, M&E) and in preparing quotations, BOQs and tender submissions. Strong negotiation and Excel skills are required.

Job Description & Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS) with strong knowledge of Singapore's construction industry.

Minimum 2 years of relevant QS experience in the construction industry.

Minimum 2 years of working experience in Singapore is preferred.

Must have good experience in Builders Works, M&E Works, A&A Works, renovation, reinstatement, demolition, hacking and general construction works .

Able to read, understand and interpret architectural, structural and M&E drawings .

Able to review drawings and identify the scope of works, quantities, materials and construction requirements .

Able to take off quantities from drawings and prepare accurate costing.

Able to review website enquiries, client enquiries and tender enquiries , understand the requirements and prepare quotations accordingly.

Able to study drawings, specifications, photos and scope of works received from clients and prepare suitable quotations.

Responsible for preparing quotations, BOQ, cost estimates, tender submissions and rate analysis .

Able to calculate material, labour, subcontractor and equipment costs accurately.

Able to obtain and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations and negotiate competitive rates.

Prepare progress claims, variation orders and final accounts .

Monitor project costs, variations and budgets.

Check and verify subcontractor claims and invoices .

Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers regarding pricing and commercial matters.

Able to attend site visits , take measurements and verify existing site conditions when required.

Able to identify additional works and prepare variation quotations based on site conditions or revised drawings.

Good knowledge of Singapore construction rates, material costs, labour rates and subcontractor pricing .

Must be familiar with Singapore construction practices and local project requirements .

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and other relevant QS software/tools .

Good numerical, analytical, communication and negotiation skills.

Able to work independently, manage multiple enquiries and meet quotation deadlines.

Must be able to review a drawing and prepare a complete and accurate quotation without requiring constant supervision .

Candidates with strong Singapore construction project experience will be given preference.
