Job summary

KOK TONG CONSTRUCTION PTE LTD is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support pre- and post-contract activities in Singapore. You will perform quantity take-offs, cost comparisons, feasibility reviews, and PQ submissions, while evaluating quotations and preparing tender submissions.

Responsibilities cover interpreting contracts, cost breakdowns, and cost certification to subcontractors/suppliers, along with processing payment claims to clients.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management is required.
• Strong reading of construction drawings and documents.
• Good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Analytical and meticulous with strong negotiation ability.
• Dynamic, positive and forward thinking personality; able to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Understand and reasonably interpret contract documents and drawings.
• Interpret contract provisions and advise on risk areas.
• Perform measurement and cost breakdown.
• Prepare payment certificates to sub-contractors/suppliers.
• Prepare payment claims to clients.

Job description

Pre-Contract Stage

• Carry out quantity take-offs and cost comparisons for major work trades
• Assist in establishing client requirements and conducting feasibility studies
• Monitor relevant planning authority websites to identify potential tender opportunities
• Prepare, complete, and submit pre-qualification (PQ) documents
• Review and assess tender documents to ensure sufficient information is available for tender preparation
• Source, request, and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare tender submissions, including cost estimates and supporting documents
• Submit tenders and follow up on any clarifications or queries

Post Contract Stage

Responsibilities:

• Understand and reasonably interpret contract document & drawing
• Understand contract provision thoroughly and advise the risk/areas of concern
• To perform measurement and cost breakdown
• To prepare payment certification to sub-contractor/ supplier
• To prepare payment claim to client
• To identify and evaluate variation work

Requirements:

• Diploma / Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent
• Able to read/understand/execute work based on construction drawings
• Good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Analytical and meticulous with strong interpersonal and good negotiation skill.
• A dynamic, positive and forward thinking personality will be essential
• Ability to work with tight deadlines will be an added advantage
