Job summary

TRACEBUILD E&C PTE LTD in Singapore seeks a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor to forecast capital requirements and monitor expenditure during construction. You will perform quantity take-offs, handle progress claims, variation orders, project costing and tendering works, liaising with architects and clients.

The role covers cost management from initial calculations to final figures, tender preparation, and subcontractor coordination across island-wide projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in building/quantity surveying/civil engineering or its equivalent.
  • Preferably 2–3 years of relevant construction experience.
  • Resourceful with good client and subcontractor relationships.
  • Meticulous, independent, motivated and results-oriented.
  • Team player who can work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Source suppliers and subcontractors for quotations.
  • Tabulate price comparisons and costing summaries.
  • Provide central quantity surveying services.
  • Prepare interim valuations, pricing and contract variations.
  • Submit regular cost and value claims and follow up.
  • Assist monthly cost and value reporting.
  • Perform quantity take-off.
  • Prepare tender and contract documents with architects/clients.
  • Analyze costs for repair and maintenance projects.
  • Assist in defining client requirements and feasibility studies.
  • Perform risk and value management and cost control.
  • Identify and address commercial risks.
  • Prepare and analyze costing for tenders.
  • Value completed work and arrange payments.
  • Maintain awareness of current building contracts and health & safety implications.
  • Handle ad-hoc assignments.

Job description

Job Objectives/Job Summary:

As a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor, he/she is expected to forecast total capital requirements and monitors expenditure during construction.Performs quantity take-off and handles progress claims, variation order, project costing and contract matters. He/she manages all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures as well as doing tendering works and calling for quotation.

Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Ability to source for suppliers and sub-contractors quotation.

  • Tabulation of price comparison and costing summary.

  • Provide central quantity surveying service.

  • Preparation of interim valuations, pricing and agreement of contract variations.

  • Regular and up-to-date claim submissions and follow-up.

  • Assist monthly cost and value report.

  • Quantity take-off.

  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.

  • Undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work.

  • Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.

  • Performing risk and value management and cost control.

  • Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks.

  • Preparing and analyzing costing for tenders.

  • Valuing completed work and arranging payments.

  • Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.

  • Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.

  • Ad-hoc assignments.

Job Specifications/Requirements:
  • Degree or Diploma in building/quantity surveying/civil engineering or its equivalent.

  • Preferably at least 2 to 3 years relevant working experience in construction.

  • Resourceful and maintain good relationship with clients and sub-contractors.

  • Meticulous, independent, highly motivated and results- oriented.

  • A good team player and be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
