Job summary

Apex Asia Tech is seeking a QA Engineer to establish the platform's quality practice from the ground up. You will define test scope, design test cases, and drive end-to-end quality across finance, property, and AI workflows. Your work directly influences feature readiness for production.

You will lead test execution, manage defects, and progressively Build automation to improve regression efficiency, while ensuring strong English and Mandarin documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of software testing / QA experience.
• Completed testing lifecycle: planning, design, execution, defect tracking, regression, release acceptance.
• From PRD/requirements, define test scope and acceptance criteria independently.
• Decisive and accountable; drives tasks to completion.
• Hands-on with at least one test automation framework (Playwright, JUnit, Selenium).
• Able to read and write Chinese; comfortable with Chinese docs/PRDs.
• Good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Define test scope and acceptance criteria from PRD.
• Design and write test cases for Finance, AI QA workflows, happy paths, edge and error cases.
• Lead test execution; own defects end to end through closure.
• Own the QA process from requirements to final acceptance (UAT).
• Drive test automation to cover core regressions as the project matures.

About this role

This is a high-autonomy role for an early core member of the team. You'll help build the platform's quality practice from 0 to 1 and own product quality end to end, from defining test scope and designing test cases through to automated regression. What you test are real finance,property and operations workflows, and AI agents doing real work in production. Your quality judgment will directly decide whether a feature ships.

What you'll do

1. Work independently from the PRD to understand product requirements, and define test scope and acceptance criteria
2. Design and write complete test cases covering Finance / Obtuseness rules, AI agent Q&A / workflows, and other scenarios, including happy paths, edge cases, and error cases
3. Lead test execution, own defects end to end through to closure, and take responsibility for test results and product quality
4. Own the full process from requirement understanding through to final acceptance (UAT), acting as the owner of product quality rather than just an executor running scripts
5. Drive the build-out of test automation as the project matures, progressively covering core regression scenarios to improve testing efficiency

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
2. 3+ years of software testing / QA experience
3. Has been through a complete testing lifecycle before (test planning, test case design, execution, defect tracking, regression, release acceptance)
4. Able to work from a PRD / requirements doc to independently identify test scope and acceptance criteria
5. Decisive and accountable: proactively drives tasks to completion rather than waiting to be assigned work
6. Hands‑on experience with at least one test automation framework (e.g. Playwright, JUnit, Selenium)
7. Able to read and write Chinese, and comfortable reading Chinese technical docs / PRDs
8. Good written and spoken English

Nice to have

1. Familiar with RESTful API testing methods and tools (e.g. Postman, curl)
2. Experience building an API test automation framework
3. Comfortable writing SQL to verify data in a database
4. Experience with performance or load testing
5. Basic security testing knowledge (e.g. common OWASP risk areas)
6. Experience testing AI / LLM applications (conversational products, agents)
7. Testing experience with finance / property management / ERP-style SaaS products
