Job summary

Wood is seeking a QA/QC Inspector to support our growing operations in Singapore. You will ensure work aligns with project specifications and regulatory requirements, conduct inspections, and document quality records to support safe, successful project delivery.

The role emphasizes adherence to HSES policies, coordination with contractors and supervision teams, and maintaining quality plans and site instructions to meet client requirements. Singapore-based site work with global projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience in quality control, inspections, and documentation on construction projects.
  • Familiarity with HSES policies, procedures, and client requirements.
  • Certification or training in inspection crafts is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all construction activities comply with HSES policy and site regulations.
  • Verify contractors follow drawings, specs, ITPs, and quality plans.
  • Manage quality aspects within assigned area and align with project schedule.
  • Coordinate with supervision and planning engineers to develop daily/weekly work plans.
  • Monitor safety and quality records, NCR closure, and site instructions.

The Role

The QAQC Inspector will ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. They conduct inspections, verify compliance, monitor testing activities, and document quality records to ensure the safe and successful delivery of the project.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all construction contractors’ supervision and manpower are instructed and comply with all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) policy, site regulations, permit to work procedures and instructions and Client requirements
  • Ensure that contractors working within his discipline adhere strictly to the latest Approved for Construction project drawings, Specifications, ITP’s, Procedures, Quality Plan and Site Instructions
  • Responsible for the HSES and quality aspects of the work within assigned areas and for ensuring contractors complete their work in accordance with the project schedule
  • Work with the contractors’ supervision, planning engineers and the Construction Engineer, develop detailed daily and weekly work plans in accordance with the overall planning schedule and Quality Plan
  • Inform the Discipline Superintendent on specific areas where the programme needs to be adjusted in accordance with site conditions, quality plan and material deliveries are in accordance with preservation procedures
  • Monitor the discipline and timekeeping of contractors’ staff and labor in a defined work area, identifying any disciplinary action required, NCR closed out and informing the relevant Discipline Superintendent
  • Prioritize field execution sequence and resources when conflict arises
  • Manage available resources well, optimally and demonstrate a high level of resourcefulness.
  • Assist in organizing safety awareness activities such as toolbox meetings, all safety promotional activities, safety audits, safety meetings
  • Assist in risk assessment job safety analysis, safety procedures/ checklists, safety records, and documentation
  • Liaise with site operations staff and Construction Manager on all safety and health issues
  • Overall, In-charge for piping activities on site, day to day bases and responsibility for the construction activity as per plan and schedule to meets to the client requirements and ensuring all scaffolding methods comply with Local and EHS policies.
  • Monitoring the subcontractor daily erection, dismantling Modification of scaffolding.

Qualifications
  • Experience via assignments or supervisory responsibility in most areas, including field engineering, project control, quality control, administration of contracts and subcontracts, craft supervision, field superintendence, safety, labor relations, maintenance, turnarounds and outages, commissioning and other applicable positions and functions.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the methods, practices, crafts, tools, equipment, codes, documents, drawings, specifications, requirements, functions and control systems of the engineering and construction business.
  • Overall, a minimum of 10 years experience in the process and/or utility/power construction industry.
  • Certification in various inspection craft highly preferred.
  • Relevant Singapore Workplace Safety and Health training highly preferred
