Job summary

InternSG in Singapore seeks a dedicated Quality Assurance Inspector for piping projects. You will develop and enforce quality control plans, review drawings, monitor QC implementation from material selection to installation, and conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure conformance with design specs.

You will oversee NDT methods (radiographic, ultrasonic, dye penetrant, magnetic particle), perform hydrostatic/pneumatic tests, maintain records, and generate detailed reports.

Qualifications

• Polytechnic or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related certificate.
• Strong in documentation and record-keeping.
• Knowledge of Welding Inspection (AWS or CSWIP).
• Knowledge of Auditor certification and experience with base build piping fabrication, hook-up modules, and welding inspections including NDT.
• Experience in piping line walk and reinstatement inspections with Isometric drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce quality control plans (QCPs) with inspection points, tests, and acceptance criteria.

• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of piping components.

• Verify material suitability via receiving inspections and certificates reviews.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of materials.
• Monitor welding procedures, qualifications, and welder performance.
• Coordinate radiographic exams of welded joints to identify defects.
• Maintain records of inspections and test results; generate reports.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction and PM teams on quality issues.
• Communicate with stakeholders, contractors, and regulators on quality matters.
• Identify non-conformities; lead investigations; implement corrective actions.
• Track resolution of non-conformities and effectiveness of actions.
• Ensure compliance with ASME B31.3, API 570 and related standards.

• Maintain comprehensive records of all inspection and testing activities, including test results, inspection reports, and relevant documentation.
• Generate detailed quality reports outlining findings, discrepancies, and recommended corrective actions.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to address quality-related concerns and provide technical guidance.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies regarding quality control matters.
• Identify non-conformities, deviations, and quality issues, and lead investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Track the resolution of non-conformities and ensure that corrective actions are effective.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations governing piping systems, such as ASME B31.3, API 570, and others.

Requirement:

• Poly or higher in Mechanical Engineering relevant certificate
• Strong in documentation
• Knowledge of Welding Inspection (AWS or CSWIP).
• Knowledge of Auditor certification – Experience with Base build piping fabrication or Hook-up module fabrication, welding inspections of structural and piping welding jobs including Non-Destructive testing.
• Experience in piping line walk, and reinstatement inspections by clear understanding of Isometric drawings.
