Job summary

BUILDERS ALLIANCE PTE. LTD. is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to oversee quality assurance and control on civil construction projects. The role requires reviewing drawings and specifications, coordinating inspections, and maintaining thorough QA/QC documentation.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of QA/QC experience, familiarity with ISO 9001, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders on site to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
• 2–3 years of QA/QC experience in construction.
• Familiar with ISO 9001 and construction quality requirements.
• Able to read and interpret drawings, specs and method statements.
• Experience with inspection procedures and QA/QC records.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures for the project.
• Monitor works to comply with approved drawings and specs.
• Prepare ITPs, checklists, method statements and quality records.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors and site teams for inspection/testing.
• Conduct site inspections and identify non-conforming works or quality issues.
• Raise and follow up on NCRs and ensure corrective actions are closed.
• Review materials and workmanship against specs.
• Maintain records of inspection reports, test certificates and approvals.
• Assist in preparing Quality Plans and project quality documentation.
• Participate in quality audits when required.

QA/QC Engineer

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant QA/QC experience in the construction industry.
• Experience in civil, structural or building construction works preferred.
• Familiar with ISO 9001 Quality Management System and construction quality requirements.
• Knowledge of Singapore construction standards, specifications and relevant codes is an advantage.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Familiar with Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Method Statements, Checklists and inspection procedures.
• Experience in preparing and managing QA/QC documentation and records.
• Good knowledge of inspection, testing and quality-control procedures.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with Project Engineers, Site Supervisors, consultants and subcontractors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Relevant QA/QC or construction-related certifications will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the project's Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and quality requirements.
• Prepare and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), inspection checklists, method statements and quality records.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors and site teams for inspection and testing activities.
• Conduct site inspections and identify non-conforming works or quality issues.
• Raise and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and ensure corrective actions are properly implemented and closed.
• Review materials, products and workmanship to ensure they meet approved specifications.
• Coordinate and monitor required material inspections, testing and laboratory tests.
• Maintain proper records of inspection reports, test certificates, material approvals, approvals/submissions and quality documentation.
• Assist in preparing Quality Plans, Quality Control Plans and project quality documentation.
• Review subcontractors' quality documents and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Monitor corrective and preventive actions and verify their effectiveness.
• Conduct quality inspections at various stages of construction and before work is covered up.
• Assist in preparing as-built documentation and final quality dossiers for project handover.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits when required.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, consultants and site team to resolve quality-related issues.
• Ensure proper documentation and traceability of inspection and testing records.
• Perform other quality-related duties assigned by the management.
