Responsibilities

  • Source and procure marine equipment, spare parts, consumables, and vessel supplies.

  • Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders within timelines.
  • Liaise with vessel personnel and internal teams to clarify specs and priorities.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and logistics partners for timely delivery.
  • Monitor open POs, follow up on deliveries, shortages, and discrepancies.
  • Maintain procurement records, supplier data, quotations, and documents in the system.
  • Evaluate supplier performance on price, quality, and delivery reliability.
  • Assist with invoice verification and resolve pricing or quantity discrepancies.
  • Identify cost-saving options and suitable substitutes to support cost control.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Source and procure marine equipment, spare parts, consumables, and vessel supplies in line with operational requirements.
  • Obtain and compare quotations from approved vendors to secure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders accurately within required timelines.
  • Liaise with vessel personnel, technical teams, and internal departments to clarify purchasing specifications and priorities.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners to ensure timely delivery to vessels, ports, or designated locations.
  • Monitor outstanding purchase orders and follow up on delivery schedules, shortages, and order discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, quotations, and supporting documentation in the procurement system.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on pricing, product quality, responsiveness, and delivery reliability.
  • Support cost-control initiatives by identifying alternative suppliers, suitable substitutes, and cost-effective purchasing options.
  • Assist with invoice verification and resolve discrepancies relating to pricing, quantities, deliveries, or purchase orders.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within the marine, shipping, offshore, or maritime industry.
  • Good knowledge of marine spare parts, vessel supplies, purchasing procedures, and supplier sourcing practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement/ERP systems, with strong numerical, documentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to work effectively under tight operational timelines.
