Qualifications

• Fluent in Mandarin and English, written and spoken, able to move between informal client conversations and formal communication.
• Experience in publishing/editorial is advantageous.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, cross-time-zone environment with strong self-management and communication about workload.
• Technical aptitude and willingness to learn: HTML/CSS helpful, not required but beneficial.
• Strong written English for professional correspondence and escalation judgment when needed.

Responsibilities

• Onboard new university and institutional clients, building Digital Commons repositories.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for editors and librarians on issues or strategy questions.
• Train non-technical academic staff on unfamiliar tools and systems with patience and clarity.
• Partner with a Strategic Advisor on complex questions: journal indexing, editorial policy, competitive positioning.
• Build working proficiency in HTML/CSS troubleshooting to support day-to-day client needs.

In this way, we empower those communities to contribute to social progress, to enhance human well-being and to share and expand the breadth of human knowledge.**About the Role*** Academic publishing is changing quickly: AI detection policy without a settled playbook, research integrity questions that did not exist five years ago, journals expecting SaaS-level responsiveness.* This role supports Asia-Pacific institutions launching and growing journals on Elsevier's Digital Commons platform.* The work moves between client relationship management and hands-on technical problem-solving, often within the same day: guiding a first-time editor through submission workflows in Mandarin one week, resolving an HTML formatting issue ahead of a launch deadline the next.* This is a fully remote, entry-level position, part of a team spread across Cairo, Amsterdam, Singapore, and the US, working largely asynchronously across time zones.
