Job summary

The Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry (METI) in Singapore invites applications for a Product/Service Designer as part of the GRIT@Gov traineeship. You will shape BizSG experiences, collaborate with product managers and engineers, and conduct user research to drive measurable improvements across government services.

Join a multidisciplinary Agile team, develop service blueprints, and contribute to a design system while learning in a 6–12 month traineeship.

Qualifications

Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Psychology, Computer Science, or related field.
Some work experience (internships count) in public service or software/product design.
Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design work from research to delivery is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead the design of BizSG experiences across web and mobile from discovery to buildable designs.
Conduct user research with businesses and agency officers using interviews and tests.
Translate findings into clear design directions and align with stakeholders.
Develop service blueprints, journey maps, and process flows linking front and back office.
Collaborate with product managers and engineers in Agile teams to shape requirements.
Facilitate workshops to simplify licence workflows and improve forms.
Maintain design system, patterns, and accessibility standards.
