Job summary

Public Service Division in Singapore seeks a Senior Engineer/Executive Engineer/Engineer (Hydrogeology) to lead development of hydrogeological models and support integrated water resources management. You will work in an inter-disciplinary team to develop models, analyse data, and advance R&D projects.

The role involves data collection from boreholes and tests, numerical modelling, model calibration with field data, preparing reports, and knowledge sharing sessions.

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate qualifications in Hydrogeology, Geology, Civil / Environmental Engineering, or related fields.
• Proficiency in hydrogeological modelling software such as MODFLOW and GIS applications.
• Possess strong analytical thinking, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and a good team player.
• Self-motivated, adaptable and possess strong sense of responsibility.
• Experience / knowledge in hydrogeological modelling is preferred.

Responsibilities

What the role is

As a Senior Engineer/Executive Engineer / Engineer (Hydrogeology) in the Water Systems Department, Planning & Capability Development Division, you will be part of an inter-disciplinary team to lead the development of engineering models to understand hydrological systems and enhance integrated water resource management and undertake related R&D projects.

What you will be working on

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following areas:

• Data Analysis : work in a multidisciplinary team to collect and analyse data from trial boreholes, hydraulic tests and geological studies.
• Numerical modelling : work closely with the project consultants to develop and refine numerical model(s)
• Model calibration and updating : Calibrate and update models using field monitoring data.
• Report preparation : prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Knowledge management : maintain and implement standard protocols for model development, calibration and validation to ensure that models are properly archived and version-controlled; as well as conduct training/knowledge sharing sessions
• Any other duties as assigned.
