Job summary

sggovterp in Singapore seeks a Senior/Assistant Engineer (Electrical) to coordinate and supervise electrical works at the Ulu Pandan Water Reclamation Plant. Plan shutdowns, troubleshoot faults, and ensure safe, compliant operations.

Diploma in Electronics and Electrical Engineering with ~2 years of maintenance experience is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is desirable; willingness to work after hours when needed.

• Based at Ulu Pandan Water Reclamation Plant.
• Ability to attend to emergency calls after hours.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise contractors performing electrical works such as overhauling, repairs, servicing of motors, switchboards, transformers, starter panels and other HT/LT electrical equipment.
• Plan, coordinate and perform shutdowns of switchboards or other electrical equipment for servicing/maintenance/repair; troubleshoot faults and make repair recommendations.
• Assist in preparing technical specifications, scope of works and cost estimates for term maintenance contracts or other ad hoc works.
• Assist in preparing and updating MEICA maintenance schedules for electrical equipment.
• Carry out plant improvement and development projects.
• Assist in budgeting for electrical OPEX and CAPEX for each financial year.
• Perform procurement on WOG ACE and AMS systems to raise POs, WOs, job cards and job plans; generate GRN and CCs.
• Ensure safety compliance including NTW/PTW permits, toolbox talks, RA, SWP.

The job requirements for Senior/Assistant Engineer (Electrical) are as follows:

What you will be working on

• Coordinate and supervise contractors performing electrical works such as overhauling, repairs, servicing of motors, switchboards, transformers, starter panels and other HT/LT electrical equipment.
• Plan, coordinate and perform shut down of switchboards or other electrical equipment for servicing/maintenance/repair. Perform trouble-shooting of faults and make recommendation on repair works required.
• Assist in preparing technical specifications, scope of works and cost estimates for term maintenance contracts, and/or other adhoc maintenance or repair works.
• Assist in preparing and updating MEICA maintenance schedules for electrical equipment.
• Carry out plant improvement and development projects.
• Assist in budgetary planning of funds (OPEX and CAPEX) for every financial year related to expenditure on electrical systems and other projects.
• Perform procurement roles on both the WOG ACE system and Asset Management System (AMS) to raise purchase orders (POs), works orders (WOs), job cards and job plans. Generate Good Receipt Notes (GRN) and Completion Certificates (CC) for services rendered, e.g. maintenance and servicing, acquiring of materials, parts & equipment. Supervision and verification of site work, check and vet service reports and supporting documents to certify payments.
• Ensure compliance to safety requirements for all works, including but not limited to - putting up NTW/PTW permits, conduct toolbox meeting and RA briefing, conduct safety inspections, prepare/review Risk Assessment (RA) and Safe Work Procedure (SWP).

What we are looking for

• Diploma in Electronics and Electrical Engineering or relevant engineering diploma.
• Preferably with two (2) years of relevant working experience related to maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Proficient in computer skills - e.g. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).
• Able to work in used water treatment environment and physically able to perform site works.
• Officer will be based at Ulu Pandan Water Reclamation Plant.
• Ability to attend to emergency calls or activation back to plant after office hours for work exigencies

Work reporting timing

8am to 5:30pm (Mon - Thurs) and 5pm (Fri), with 1 hour lunch break in between.
