Job summary

PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency, invites applications for an Assistant Engineer/Senior Assistant Engineer (Shift Operations) at the Kranji Water Reclamation Plant, focused on treating used water to produce NEWater quality and safe discharge to the sea.

You will support shift operations, monitor equipment, supervise contractor crews, and ensure safety and SOP adherence with a 3-rotating-shift schedule including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil/Environmental/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Willing to work rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.
• Able to work independently and in a team; comfortable in used water environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Shift Leader to monitor and control plant operations safely.
• Supervise contractor workers in operation and safety compliance.
• Respond to abnormalities and follow SOPs.
• Record readings and perform site checks; troubleshoot minor equipment.
• Carry out site checks and log operating records.
• Perform sampling and testing of process parameters.
• Report equipment breakdowns in the fault report.
• Attend alarms detected within the Plant.

What The Role Is

As an Assistant Engineer/Senior Assistant Engineer (Shift Operations) in the Kranji Water Reclamation Plant, you will be part of the team responsible for the treatment of used water to quality suitable for NEWater production and for safe discharge to the sea. We are looking for motivate individuals to join us. Your main responsibilities are:

What You Will Be Working On

• Assist the Shift Leader to monitor and control plant operations including chemical dosing, electrical and mechanical equipment, and auxiliaries safely.
• Supervise contractor’s workers on the operation of treatment processes, auxiliary equipment and safety compliance.
• Respond to abnormalities and carry out SOP when required.
• Record process and equipment operating readings, perform site checks, and troubleshoot minor equipment failures.
• Carry out site checks of equipment and plant operating conditions regularly and take down relevant operating records.
• Carry out sampling and testing of process parameters to ensure compliance to desired quality output.
• Report all equipment breakdown that occurred during the shift in the daily fault report file.
• Attend to alarms detected within the Plant.

Any other duties assigned.

Requirements

What we are looking for

• Diploma in Engineering Discipline (Civil/Environmental/Mechanical/ Electrical/Electronics/Chemical Engineering or relevant engineering)
• Applicants with no experience may apply
• Able to work independently and a good team player
• Comfortable with working in used water environment and physically able to perform site works
• Candidate shall be working on 3 rotating shift (including weekends and Public Holidays) and there will be scheduled off/rest day.
