Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Proposal Manager who will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and success. The ideal candidate will lead the business line’s bid and proposal activities, overseeing the entire process from prospect management to submission. This includes guiding and mentoring team members, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and developing winning strategies and proposals.

Responsibilities
  • Bid Leadership & Proposal Management: Oversee the full proposal lifecycle—from prospect management through to submission and project setup—ensuring compliance with governance and risk management requirements. Develop strategic proposals, including technical strategies, pricing, and value propositions, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Governance & Compliance: Serve as a gatekeeper for work winning governance, ensuring all opportunities undergo appropriate signoffs in line with regional and global delegation of authority. Chair governance calls as required and maintain accurate records of opportunities and submissions.
  • Pricing & Commercial Strategy: Recommend and implement pricing strategies for proposals, including bottom-up pricing, benchmarking, cashflow analysis, and optimization.
  • Pipeline Management & Analytics: Monitor and report on business development activities, bid pipeline (weighted and unweighted), win/loss ratios, and key performance indicators. Deliver tailored opportunity reports for each Business Unit, providing insights into pipeline health, bid volumes, and conversion metrics.
  • Data Quality & System Stewardship: Champion data integrity within core systems (e.g., Oracle Sales), promoting accountability for accurate and timely input and maintenance of opportunity data across Business Units.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for internal stakeholders during the bid process. Gather feedback and lessons learned to continuously improve processes.
  • Continuous Improvement & Best Practice Sharing: Lead post-submission reviews, capture best practices from successful bids, and implement process improvements to enhance proposal quality and win rates. Proactively seek internal stakeholders feedback on unsuccessful bids to identify areas for improvement.
  • Training & Enablement: Act as a visible champion for Work Winning Ways of Working by delivering training sessions where required and sharing best practices across business line to build bid management capability and ensure consistent standards.
