Job summary

EX SERVICES PTE. LTD. is seeking a Proposal Engineer (sales) to collaborate with designers and engineers to craft cost-effective solutions for each customer's needs.

You will act as a facilitator from initial concept through final proposal, coordinating technical and commercial aspects. In this role you will identify current and future customer requirements, prepare cost estimates from blueprints and plans, and develop compelling sales proposals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in engineering or technical sales.
• Strong ability to develop cost estimates from blueprints and plans.
• Experience communicating cost reductions and performance improvements to customers.

Responsibilities

• Identify customer requirements and build rapport with potential customers.
• Prepare cost estimates by reviewing blueprints and plans.
• Develop and update sales proposals and reports.
• Explain cost reductions and improvements to gain customer acceptance.
• Study regulations to ensure product/service compliance.

Job description

Proposal engineers (sales) work with designers and engineers to ensure acost-effective solution for each customer's specific needs. They serve as afacilitator from the start to finish of developing project proposals.

• Identifies current and future customer servicerequirements by establishing a personal rapport with potential and actualcustomers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering informationby answering questions and requests.


• Establishes new accounts and services accounts byidentifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales call schedule.


• Prepares cost estimates by studying blueprints,plans, and related customer documents; consulting with engineers, architects,and other professional and technical personnel.


• Determines improvements by analysing cost-benefitratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environment;engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.


• Gains customer acceptance by explaining ordemonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.


• Submits orders by conferring with technical supportstaff; costing engineering changes.


• Develops customer's staff by providing technicalinformation and training.


• Complies with federal, state, and local legalrequirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating futurelegislation; advising customer on product, service, or equipment adherence torequirements; advising the customer on needed actions.


• Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting,analysing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and applicationtrends.


• Maintains professional and technical knowledge byattending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications;establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.


• Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness byidentifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providinginformation and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options andcourses of action; implementing directives.


• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing relatedresults as needed.

Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering and/or technical sales role.

The Employee shall devote the whole of his/hertime, attention and skill to his/her duties hereunder and in addition suchother duties as may from time to time be reasonably required of him/her for theproper and efficient running of the Employer's business.
