Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/related field required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant civil/construction experience.
• Strong understanding of site operations and coordination.
• Experience preparing Method Statements and technical docs.
• Proficient in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
• Ability to create construction drawings in AutoCAD.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel between office and project sites.
• Singapore Class 3 driving licence advantageous.
• Experience as subcontractor on LTA projects advantageous.
• Experience in demolition, earthworks or civil infra works advantageous.
• Immediate availability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit Method Statements and other project documents.
• Prepare AutoCAD drawings and sketches for MS and site coordination.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor assigned projects for timely execution.
• Represent the Company in coordination meetings with contractors and teams.
• Visit project sites for meetings, inspections, and progress monitoring.
• Coordinate with site supervisors and internal teams on sequences and resources.
• Assist in preparing monthly progress claims and supporting documents.
• Coordinate with commercial team on variations, RFQs and progress matters.
• Maintain project records and ensure timely submissions.

Job description

Backho (S) Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Project / Site Engineer (Civil) to support our civil construction and subcontract works in Singapore.

This is primarily an office-based position with site visits as required. The role involves preparing Method Statements and technical documentation, coordinating multiple projects, attending meetings with main contractors and site teams, monitoring work progress, and supporting progress claims.

A company vehicle will be provided for site visits and work-related travel.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and submit Method Statements (MS) and other project-related technical documents.

Prepare drawings and sketches using AutoCAD, including cutting plans, demolition sequences and work sequence drawings required for Method Statements and site coordination.

Plan, coordinate and monitor assigned projects to ensure timely and smooth execution of works.

Represent the Company in project and site coordination meetings and liaise with main contractors, consultants and other relevant parties.

Visit project sites as required for meetings, inspections, coordination and progress monitoring, and follow up on technical and operational issues.

Coordinate closely with site supervisors, foremen, workers, equipment operators and internal teams on work sequences, manpower, equipment and other site requirements.

Assist in the preparation of monthly progress claims, including work-done forms and relevant supporting documents.

Coordinate with the Company’s commercial team on work progress, additional works, variations, RFQs and other project-related matters.

Maintain proper project records and ensure progress reports, photographs, submissions and supporting documents are properly prepared and submitted on time.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in civil engineering or construction works.

Good practical understanding of construction site operations, work sequences and site coordination.

Experience in preparing Method Statements and construction-related technical documentation.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Able to use AutoCAD for construction drawings and sketches such as cutting plans, demolition sequences and work sequence drawings.

Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Willing to travel between the office and various project sites when required.

A valid Singapore Class 3 Driving Licence will be an advantage.

Experience working as a subcontractor on LTA projects will be an added advantage.

Experience in demolition, earthworks or civil infrastructure works will be an added advantage.

Immediate availability or short notice period preferred.
